Ambassador Melina Schuettke

Melina comes from southern Germany. She has been a "multi-sport athlete" since childhood, enjoying via ferratas, hiking, climbing, and cross-country skiing.

She works as a journalist for various daily newspapers and outdoor magazines.

Melina has been going to the mountains since she was a child. After an unsuccessful career in athletics, she fell back in love with the mountains during a semester abroad, and since then, she has been traveling whenever possible.

Her biggest passions are via ferratas, hiking, cross-country skiing, bouldering, and climbing. Via ferratas quickly became her great passion, and the combination of hiking and climbing has never left her. As she says: "Standing alone on a summit that you can't reach by a regular path but only by climbing steel cables" is the best feeling for her. She loves spending time in the Dolomites and on the Dachstein.

It wouldn’t be Melina if she didn’t have more goals. She would love to try the Sulzfluh-Super-Ferrata or do the Brenta crossing via ferrata.

As a freelance journalist, she also enjoys reporting professionally on her experiences and sharing her experiences of the best via ferratas in Europe on social networks. Her favorite via ferrata region is the Dolomites. One day, she would like to complete every ferrata there at least once.
